Immuno-Chek G ™ Foal IgG Quantitative

IgG levels of all foals should be routinely measured when they are about 12 to 24
hours old.

Foals are born with no circulating antibodies (IgG) and must receive adequate
antibodies from the mare's colostrum. Up to 25% of newborn foals have low IgG
levels, placing them at high risk for infection, serious illness, or death.
Low IgG may result from premature lactation, poor suckling, malabsorption, or
low-quality colostrum. The Immuno-Chek G™ Foal IgG is a horse-side measurement
test that offers information about foal’s IgG level.

Rapid identification of low IgG is critical for initiating early treatment in foals with
insufficient circulating antibodies.
