Our Story
Founded in the early 1980s by Dr. Christa G. Kuehn, Ph.D., and Professor Stephan Isied, BioMetallics/TargetVet specializes in the development and marketing of practical easy-to-use on-site diagnostic tests for veterinarians and breeders worldwide. Dr. Kuehn had the insight to focus on progesterone - a low level hormone rather than the accepted luteinizing hormone protein to predict ovulation in canines and other animals. The result was the development of the Target Progesterone test – extremely precise and easy to use. To date, this has resulted in numerous diagnostic kits used by veterinarians and animal breeders worldwide. Currently we provide a broad range of diagnostic tests for various animals, including canines, equines, bovines and camelids.

The website TargetVet.com shows the current line of Easy-to-Use On-Site diagnostic tests for veterinarians and breeders worldwide. The tests feature room temperature stability, a shelf life of 2+ years, minimal packaging, and reliable fast results.
To ensure ongoing access to fresh blood samples, BioMetallics partners with several local New Jersey farms and veterinarians. The results are comparable with those from Cornell and Texas Diagnostic Labs. BioMetallics, is clearly poised to advance the science of biochemical animal care well into the coming decades.

Ortrude Dial is also the founder and owner of her own organic farm. They have a large flock of sheep and raise organic crops including soybeans, corn and oats. Her love for animals started as a young child and has continued throughout her life. Horses, cows, dogs, cats, alpacas and other animals are part of the farm.

Along with her husband, her family of 7 children and their pets (dogs, cats, rabbits, fish) -have kept her busy over the years and it is an honor to be a part of the cutting edge technology and products BioMetallics offers.
