Our Story
Founded in the early 1980s by Dr. Christa G. Kuehn, Ph.D., and Dr. Stephan Isied, Ph.D., BioMetallics/TargetVet specializes in the development and marketing of practical easy-to-use on-site tests worldwide. Dr. Kuehn had the insight to focus on progesterone - a low level hormone rather than the accepted luteinizing hormone protein to predict ovulation in canines and other animals. The result was the development of the TARGET Progesterone test – extremely precise and easy to use. Currently we provide a broad range of on site tests for various animals, including canine, equine, bovine and camelid.

Dr. Isied not only attended graduate school with Dr. Christa Kuehn but was strategically involved in helping found BioMetallics and continued in collaborative work with Dr. Kuehn throughout the years to present. He is part of the BioMetallics Board of Directors and a scientific consultant in our on-going research.

Ortrude Dial is also the founder and owner of her own organic farm. They have a large flock of sheep and raise organic crops including soybeans, corn and oats. Her love for animals started as a young child and has continued throughout her life. Horses, cows, dogs, cats, alpacas and other animals are part of the farm.
